We believe that no child should live in an institution.
Who we are GhanABC?
We are a Catalan Association located in Barcelona at Carrer de l’Encarnació, 43, 1r 1a
Registered at the Registry of Associations of the Generalitat de Catalunya under numberG67606574.
Our aim is to make people know the reality of vulnerable children and orphans in Ghana, specifically in the Koforidua area, and to help them live with their families and have a good education without the need to leave their country.
We also believe that no child should live in an institution.
WHAT DO WE DO IN CATALONIA?
to give visibility to the reality of the children of Ghana and create awareness.
We try to raise awareness amongst children in Catalan schools on the living conditions of children in Koforidua (Ghana).
We spread Ghanaian culture in schools through storytelling, singing songs and sharing the local traditions by organizing different kinds of workshops.
We make the new generations understand that Africa must not be seen as a container where we can throw away those things we do no longer want.
We organize talks and lectures in neighbourhood associations and companies in order to inform them about the reality of children in Koforidua (Ghana).
DO YOU WANT TO HELP US?

A les escoles ghaneses els divendres estan dedicats a aquestes activitats i nosaltres hi col·laborem ensenyant-los jocs tradicionals de Catalunya (el mocador, la xarranca, un-dos-tres pica paret, etc.)
Hello, my name is Mercy I am a hairdresser and I live in Koforidua with my family. In 2015 I married Mensah, he is a taxi driver and then I found out that he had a child at an orphanage. Together with what is now the GhanABC Solidarity Association, we have managed to get this child, Mishel, to live with us now and to go to school in... Mishel is a happy child, he has found his father and I am his mother. GhanABC has helped us to improve our quality of life (we have been able to move house, we sleep on mattresses, we have medical assistance and above all we know that our children will be able to choose their future). In 2018 we were able to give a little sister to Mishel, Baby Baubó, whose schooling is also paid for by the association.
