We do not believe in orphanages and we say a resounding NO to these institutions.
We believe that all children should grow up in a family both for their good cognitive and emotional development.
The vast majority of children living in orphanages (85% FONT) in Ghana have either mother or father or any other relative alive and we make every effort so that they can get back to live with them and contribute to ensure that they have food and education. We believe that the solution is not to place the child in an institution but to help the family so that the child can live with them in a favourable environment.
These families find themselves in such a precarious situation that the only way to achieve our objectives, that is to make them self-sufficient, is to offer them support and help them progress towards reaching self-reliance and independence.
